Making Ultra-slow antiprotons
using RFQD & Trap

Radio Frequencey Quadruple Decelerator (RFQD) RFQD, a special linear decelerator (accelerator used in a reverse direction) to decelerate the 5 MeV antiproton beam extracted from the AD ring, to 60 +- 60 keV.

TRAP the beam decelerated by the RFQD will be trapped and cooled in an antiproton trap, and will be extracted at energies of 10-1000 eV. The trap, low energy beam line and target chamber are being prepared in Komaba, Tokyo.
